Self-help books are my go-to for when I’m feeling stuck in a rut. Although they’re good to read whenever for some inspiration, I find myself reaching for them most when I’m looking for some guidance. I’ve read quite a few self-help books in my day, and while some can be a bit repetitive, there are many that offer realistic guidance that we as the reader can actually apply to our lives. Here are just 3 of my all-time favorite self-help books that I recommend:
1. Spirit Junkie: A Radical Road to Self-Love and Miracles by Gabrielle Bernstein
Gabrielle Bernstein is such an inspiration to me, and I’m sure many of you out there. I’m a huge fan of all of her books, but Spirit Junkie, being the first I read, really has stuck with me through the years. It’s incredible to learn about how she was able to turn her life around, and gives me the hope and determination that no matter how tough may be right now, that there is always something brighter around the corner.
2. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey
This book is a classic that everyone should absolutely read. Covey’s lessons will truly leave an impact on your way of thinking and help you develop new techniques to be more productive and to find more success. It’s a straightforward book and provides great tips that can easily be applied to your everyday life.
3. Girl, Wash Your Face: Stop Believing the Lies About Who You Are So You Can Become Who You Were Meant to Be by Rachel Hollis
I’m a huge fan of Rachel Hollis. I also tune into her podcast, both Rise and Rise Together all the time. I love this book and her outlook on life overall, as her words of empowerment really help to motivate me to be more confident and to go after my dreams. It’s a tough world we live in, but Rachel Hollis does a great job at reminding her readers/listeners that we’re all worthy and capable of achieving more.
There are many books I can add to this list, but these are my 3 go-to for when I’m in a slump and need a pick me up. These books all share different messages, but help to inspire and motivate me to get out there and work hard to reach my goals. It’s authors like these who inspired me to make this blog in the first place- to inspire other’s to always remain optimistic in the dark times and to do in life whatever it is that brings you the most joy. Of course, these are just 3 self-help types of books I love, but I’ll definitely make a part 2 to this list soon.
