The way you start your morning can frame your whole day. It’s no lie that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. If you start off your day with a stack of buttery pancakes drizzled in syrup and a side of greasy bacon, you might think your having a great morning, but you’ll likely just end up tired and wanting to go back to bed. If you start your day with protein and vitamins your body craves, you’ll have more energy and motivation to make it through the day.
Eating healthy doesn’t have to be boring! You can switch up your ingredients as frequently as you choose to keep things interesting. Here are 6 healthy breakfast ideas that you can play around with.
1. Avocado Egg Toast
This is a quick and easy breakfast that you can still keep interesting. Choose between wheat or rye bread and switch up how you cook your egg every once in awhile. My personal favorite is a sunny side up egg on rye. You can also add tomatoes or smoked salmon if you’d like!
2. Veggie Omelet
You can make a veggie omelet loads of different ways. You can make a spicy omelet with onions and peppers and a dash of hot sauce, or you can load it up with leafy greens. A little bit of cheese or chicken adds a great touch. Remember to switch up your veggies often!
3. Yogurt Parfait
Yogurt parfaits consist of three basic ingredients; yogurt, fruit, and granola. You can switch up your parfait by adding a variety of fruits or sweetening it with a touch of honey.
4. Oatmeal with Berries and Nuts
Oatmeal is my go to breakfast because there are so many ways to make it that it never gets dull. I love using almond ilk and adding strawberries and cashews to make the perfect strawberries & cream oatmeal. I also love experimenting with spices and adding cinnamon or nutmeg. There are dozens of ways to ~spice up your oatmeal. Have fun with it!
A quick breakfast for when you’re on the run is a smoothie! You can choose a flavorful berry smoothie or an energizing kale smoothie depending on what you’re in the mood for. My favorite smooh\thie is a banana and peanut butter smoothie because it’s delicious and is still packed with potassium and protein!
6. Breakfast Burrito
A breakfast burrito is a breakfast that gives you freedom to experiment with fun ingredients but will still give you an energizing start to your day. Ingredients to play around with include beans, eggs, salsa, zucchini, cheese, veggies, ham, and avocado.
